CGM Group (G)

Frap Tools

The Group is a stereo module that blends the signals from the channels linked to it (up to eight) and manages their signal routing. It consists of three sections: the amplitude controls (white) and the two effect sends and returns (yellow and green).597

Capabilities 2

Audio Mixeraudio-mixer
Stereo group bus module that sums signals from up to 8 channel modules (connected via CGM Link IDC bus) and manages effect send/return routing.597
Summing Mixersumming-mixer
Receives audio from upstream C/SC/QSC channel strips via CGM Link bus, sums them with stereo effect returns, and routes the sum to the Master module and/or group outputs.597

Parameters 6

NameTypeRangeBehavior
Group FaderfaderSets the Group's final volume — the overall amplitude of the sum of the connected channels and the returns. Features peak LEDs that notify when the left or right channel is clipping.597
Group Mute ButtonbuttonShuts the whole group including effect sends and returns. Equals turning the Group Fader to zero. Note: the group outputs (local) are not affected by the mute.597
Group Output SelectorswitchWhen set on the left, the output signal is the effects return only (excellent for multitrack recording or advanced parallel processing). When set on the right, outputs the same signal routed to the Master module: a sum of all channels plus yellow and green effect return.597
PFL ButtonbuttonRoutes the group signal to the master module's PFL section for pre-listen when the group is muted or fader is at zero.597
Return LevelknobControls the amplitude of the stereo effect return. When a CV is patched to the CV input (B.8), the knob acts as an attenuator.597
Safe Solo SwitchswitchEnables the Safe Solo function: when moved, mutes all channels not selected via their Solo in Place buttons. Allows the user to prepare a solo selection in advance without affecting the ongoing performance.597
