Joranalogue Audio Design

6-stage hybrid series/parallel diode wavefolder in 4 HP, with simultaneous main (series) and alternate (parallel) outputs, voltage-controlled fold and shape parameters, symmetry control for asymmetric folding, and an integrated soft clipper that limits outputs to approximately 10 Vpp.508

Foldknob≤5VControls the gain of the input VCA preceding the 6-stage wavefolder. As the level increases, more fold stages engage, generating more harmonics. At minimum, the input is fully attenuated. Knob range limited to +5 V equivalent; additional CV range available via the Fold CV input.508
ShapeknobControls the overdrive circuit following the wavefolding stages. At minimum, drive is disabled giving classic wavefolder tones. Increasing the setting gradually shapes folded waveforms into pulses for a harsher sound with more harmonic content.508
Symmetryknob-5V – 5VAdds a variable DC offset to the signal inputs. Turning away from centre causes asymmetric wavefolding — either positive or negative half of the waveform folds more. Also useful to re-centre folding if the input signal has a DC offset.508
