make-noise/lxd
LxD
The LxD (Low Strike Duo) is a dual-response, two-channel, direct-coupled Low Pass Gate using vactrols for simultaneous amplitude and frequency control. CH1 is 12dB/oct mildly-resonant; CH2 is 6dB/oct non-resonant. CH1 output normalled to CH2 input.442
Capabilities 2
- Lowpass Gatelowpass-gate
- Two independent LPG channels: CH1 is 12dB/oct mildly-resonant, CH2 is 6dB/oct non-resonant. Both use vactrols for simultaneous amplitude and frequency control.442
- Vactrol-basedvactrol
- Utilizes 2 vactrols — one per channel — providing the characteristic slow, natural-sounding amplitude and filter response.442

Parameters 2
| Name | Type | Range | Behavior |
|---|---|---|---|
| CH1 Filter Response | menu_setting | — | CH1 is a mildly-resonant 12dB/oct Low Pass Gate. Cutoff is determined by CV at the CH1 Control Input. Faster attack and decay response than CH2; still slower than typical VCA/VCF. Accentuates frequencies at and around the cutoff.442 |
| CH2 Filter Response | menu_setting | — | CH2 is a non-resonant 6dB/oct Low Pass Gate. Gently reveals or hides the sharper edges of a sound. Moderate attack with slow decay — turns off quickly but takes a while to fully shut off, yielding a smooth natural-sounding decay. Simultaneous loss of high frequency content mirrors natural energy decay of idio- and membranophonic instruments.442 |
