Stages
Segment generator with flexible input/output layout, three segment types (Ramp, Hold, Step), and looping capability. Can be configured as complex multi-segment envelopes, LFOs, step sequencers, sample-and-hold, pulse generators, and more. Up to six modules can be chained together.405
Capabilities 5
- Envelope Generatorenvelope-generator
- Configurable as 1 to 6-segment envelopes depending on patching. Segments 1-6 can be grouped into any combination (6-stage, 3+3, 2+4, etc.) by patching GATE inputs. Supports ADSR, AD, AR, AHDSR, and many other shapes.405
- LFOlfo
- A looping single Ramp segment behaves as an LFO. Waveform controlled by potentiometer A: variable slope saw/triangle, sine, variable slope trapezoid. Can be tempo-synced when GATE is patched, with clock division/multiplication from 1/4 to 4.405
- Pulse Generatorpulse-generator
- When GATE is patched, an independent Hold segment behaves as a pulse generator. The slider and CV input set the pulse voltage, and the potentiometer controls the pulse duration.405
- Sample and Holdsample-and-hold
- A single Step segment works as a sample and hold: at every rising edge of the GATE, it records and holds the voltage set by the slider and CV input.405
- Step Sequencerstep-sequencer
- Step segments can be chained to form step sequences. Patch external voltages into CV inputs of each stage to create a sequential switch. Loop points can be modified to loop on a subset of steps.405
Jacks 3 — 2 in / 1 out
| Name | Signal | Voltage | Description |
|---|---|---|---|
| Inputs (2) | |||
| GATE | gate | — | Marks the beginning of a group of segments. Patching a jack here starts a new envelope group; unpatched segments to the right join that group.405 |
| TIME/LEVEL CV | cv | — | CV input that controls the time or level of a segment, depending on segment type. Used alongside the TIME/LEVEL slider.405 |
| Outputs (1) | |||
| Output | cv | 0V to 8V | First output of a group generates the envelope signal (0V to +8V, or down to -8V when CV modulated on Hold/Step). Secondary outputs generate segment activity signals ramping from 8V to 0V when the segment is active.405 |
Parameters 4
| Name | Type | Range | Behavior |
|---|---|---|---|
| Segment Type Button | button | — | Press to cycle through segment types (Ramp, Step, Hold). Hold for one second to enable/disable looping on a single segment. Simultaneously press two buttons to create a loop spanning multiple segments within the same group.405 |
| Segment duration | menu_setting | 1ms – 16000ms | 405 |
| Shape/Glide/Duration (Potentiometer A) | knob | — | In Ramp segments: controls curve shape from accelerating through uniform to decelerating. In Step segments: controls glide amount. In Hold segments: controls duration of the segment.405 |
| TIME/LEVEL Slider | fader | 0V – 8V | Controls the time or level of a segment depending on segment type. In Ramp: controls ramping time. In Step/Hold: controls the target voltage (0V to 8V). When looping as LFO with gate patched: controls clock division/multiplication factor.405 |
