Warps
A cross-modulation meta-modulator that blends and combines two audio signals using a variety of algorithms (crossfade, wavefolding, ring modulation, XOR, vocoder, and more), with an internal digital oscillator that can replace the external carrier signal.365
Capabilities 3
- Ring Modulatorring-modulator
- Provides both an analog diode ring-modulator model and a clean digital ring-modulation algorithm.365
- Vocodervocoder
- 20-band analog vocoder model using 20 analysis and 20 synthesis third-octave 48dB filters; TIMBRE shifts formants.365
- Voltage-Controlled Oscillatorvco
- Internal digital audio-rate oscillator offering sine, triangle, sawtooth (for cross-modulation) and sawtooth, pulse, LP-filtered noise (for vocoding). Tracks V/Oct via LEVEL 1 CV input.365

| Name | Signal | Voltage | Description |
|---|---|---|---|
| Inputs (6) | |||
| Algorithm CV | cv | — | CV added to the Modulation algorithm knob position, allowing CV control over algorithm selection.365 |
| Carrier input | audio | — | Carrier audio input. Expects modular-level signals, typically 10Vpp up to 20Vpp. When internal oscillator is active, phase-modulates the oscillator or feeds external noise into the LP filter.365 |
| LEVEL 1 CV | cv | — | When internal oscillator is off: controls carrier gain. When internal oscillator is on: V/Oct pitch CV for the internal oscillator.365 |
| LEVEL 2 CV | cv | — | Controls the gain of the modulator input. Normalized to +5V when unpatched. Amount of CV modulation is scaled by the Modulator amplitude knob (E).365 |
| Modulator input | audio | — | Modulator audio input. Expects modular-level signals, typically 10Vpp up to 20Vpp.365 |
| Timbre CV | cv | — | CV added to the Modulation timbre knob position.365 |
| Outputs (2) | |||
| AUX output | audio | — | When internal oscillator is disabled: sum of carrier and modulator post-VCA. When internal oscillator is active: raw waveform from the internal oscillator.365 |
| Modulator output | audio | — | Main audio output carrying the cross-modulated signal.365 |
Parameters 5
| Name | Type | Range | Behavior |
|---|---|---|---|
| External carrier amplitude / internal oscillator frequency | knob | — | When internal oscillator is off: controls carrier amplitude or AM depth from LEVEL 1 CV. When internal oscillator is on: controls oscillator frequency.365 |
| Internal oscillator state | button | — | Press to enable the internal oscillator or cycle through its waveforms. LED color indicates the selected waveform; LED off means the internal oscillator is disabled and an external carrier is used.365 |
| Modulation algorithm | knob | — | Selects which signal processing operation is performed on the carrier and modulator. The CV input (3) is added to the knob position.365 |
| Modulation timbre | knob | — | Controls the intensity of the high harmonics created by cross-modulation, or provides another dimension of tone control for some algorithms. The CV input (4) is added to the knob position.365 |
| Modulator amplitude | knob | — | Controls the amplitude of the modulator or the amount of AM from LEVEL 2 CV. Gains above 1.0 are possible, producing a warm overdrive effect.365 |
