Stereo DRADD

Pladask Elektrisk

Experimental time-based audio processor for the eurorack system. Stretches, bends and inverts time through granular synthesis, modified sample playback and tapped delay lines. Intended as a tool for adding synthetic and unnatural ambiance/coloration to synth patches.259

Capabilities 4

Delaydelay
TDL algorithm: tapped delay line with configurable shape (decaying, gate, reverse reverb) and tap density/pseudo-reverb processing. Delay memory 550ms–2300ms depending on CLK.259
Granular Synthesisgranular-synthesis
GRAIN algorithm: granular synthesizer allowing timestretching, scrubbing, and shuffling of incoming audio. Delay memory 600ms–2500ms depending on CLK.259
Reverbreverb
TDL algorithm produces gated and reversed reverb effects via tapped delay line shaping and all-pass filter pseudo-reverb.259
Stereo Processingstereo-processing
Two DSP channels tuned differently for stereo width; GRAIN and TAPE have independent random generators per channel; TDL has independently randomized tap spacings per channel.259

NameSignalVoltageDescription
Inputs (7)
CLK CVcv-5V to 5V259
IN LaudioLeft audio input. Linked with right input: connecting to one sends mono signal to both channels.259
IN RaudioRight audio input. Linked with left input: connecting to one sends mono signal to both channels.259
LOOP CVcv-5V to 5VCV input for LOOP parameter; lowpass filtered, will not respond to rapid LFOs or audio rate signals.259
MOD CVcv-5V to 5V259
P1 CVcv-5V to 5VCV input for P1 parameter; lowpass filtered, will not respond to rapid LFOs or audio rate signals.259
P2 CVcv-5V to 5VCV input for P2 parameter; lowpass filtered, will not respond to rapid LFOs or audio rate signals.259
Outputs (3)
OUT Laudio259
OUT Raudio259
SUMaudioSum (L+R) output that combines the processing of both channels.259

Parameters 7

NameTypeRangeBehavior
Algorithm selectorswitchThree-position toggle switch selecting between GRAIN, TDL, and TAPE algorithms. P1 and P2 parameter functions change accordingly.259
CLKknob12000Hz – 48000HzSets the DSP system clock frequency, controlling sample rate, delay memory size, and various other parameter rates. Also pitch-shifts audio stored in delay memory; full range yields approximately 2 octaves of pitch shifting. Low CLK settings decrease signal-to-noise ratio.259
LOOPknobDecay/feedback parameter. CW from noon adds looping feedback (controls decay length). CCW from noon adds positive feedback across algorithm sections. Positive feedback results depend on algorithm and P1/P2 settings. Positive feedback can cause runaway oscillation; avoid minimum setting on startup.259
MIXknobDry/wet mixer affecting all three outputs (left, right and sum). Clean audio at minimum; completely processed audio at maximum. Cannot be controlled with CV.259
MODknobRandom system clock modulation depth producing a random vibrato effect. CLK does not affect the speed of the MOD function.259
P1knobAlgorithm-dependent parameter. Function changes depending on the selected algorithm (GRAIN, TDL, or TAPE).259
P2knobAlgorithm-dependent parameter. Function changes depending on the selected algorithm (GRAIN, TDL, or TAPE).259
