Geiger Counter

WMD

Digital destruction Eurorack module with CV control over every parameter. Features 252 wave tables for extreme sound manipulation, variable sample rate (CD quality to 280Hz), and bit depth control (8-bit to 1-bit). Includes gain/tone preamp, direct input bypass, and tone enable/disable switch. Fully DC coupled for audio and CV signals.510

Capabilities 2

Bit Crusherbit-crusher
Bit depth control from 8-bit to 1-bit with mask mode (logical AND) and CV control.510
Waveshaping Distortiondistortion
High-gain preamp into a digital wavetable distortion stage with 252 wave tables, variable sample rate, and bit depth control for extreme signal destruction.510

Parameters 7

NameTypeRangeBehavior
Bit Depthknob1bit – 8bitControls bit resolution. Full up = 8-bit full resolution. Each step down halves resolution, adding quantization distortion, down to 1-bit square wave. Green LED engages Mask mode (signal logically ANDed with 8-bit number). CV input active only when cable plugged in; knob sets center; can wrap around edges.510
Direct In/LevelknobAllows a signal to be injected directly to the Geiger Counter's digital stage, bypassing the preamp's coloration.510
GainknobLow settings provide clean tones with no distortion; high settings brickwall the signal for sustain. Coarse setting for desired tone from the selected wave table.510
Sample Rateknob≥280HzControls the sample rate. Full up samples faster than a CD; dialing down lowers fidelity and frequency response, adding overtones. Red LED = fine mode (limited to upper end). When CV is active, the knob sets the center frequency. When LED is green, knob is logically ANDed with the CV signal.510
ToneknobBlends muffled low-mids with chimey upper mids and highs. Fully down: muffled and grungy. Middle: smooth and full-bodied. Top: cuts lows for only upper harmonic content. Fine-tunes the wave table sound.510
Tone Enable/DisableswitchRemoves the tone control from the preamp circuit when disabled, allowing the pure ultra-hot signal to go directly into the Wave Table. Disabling produces completely different sounds by brickwalling to the extremes of the tables faster.510
Wave Tableknob0 – 251Knob and hex display select from 252 wave tables. Wave tables are organized so a more extreme version is typically one up from the current. Display is hexadecimal (0-9, A-F). CV input active only when cable plugged in; wraps around end points 00 and FB. Knob sets center.510
